Hélène Bögels is a clinical psychologist/psychotherapist and since 2001 has been employed by Reinier van Arkel, a mental health service in Den Bosch. She also works as an independent therapist at Psychotherapy Den Bosch. Within the service she works as a group psychotherapist in adolescent psychiatry. In her own practice she provides specialised mental health care for adults using Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She is a supervisor at the Dutch Schema Therapy Society and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). She is also a supervisor/educational therapist in CBT, Group Psychotherapy, and EMDR Europe Practitioner (VEN). Until 2016 she worked, for more than 10 years, as a teacher of Basic Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Since 2014 she teaches Schema Therapy. Her Schema Therapy instructors were H. van Genderen, Y. Young and A. Arntz. As a therapist she has contributed to studies regarding the effectiveness of Schema Therapy in 50 sessions (especially Cluster C) (Arntz & Bamelis). She is an experienced Schema Therapist with cluster B and C disorders, both individually and in groups. For many years, until October 2018, she was an active member of the Dutch Schema Therapy Society (a board member with Education and Registration portfolio).
